A couple of months ago I was sitting at my Nanna’s kitchen table with an assortment of family. Nanna & Poppa had just got back from a trip to visit the country rellies and amongst the tales of missionary cousins and afternoon tea’s I heard two golden words – ‘cotton farm’. My little photographer heart went aflutter – how did I not know I had relatives who farmed cotton? Pretty, pretty cotton?!
It wasn’t long before I was on the phone with said rellies to organise a visit of my own, and I knew just who I was going to take with me. Calen and Stacey are like family to me, and it doesn’t hurt that they are a dream to shoot. Stacey with those big, beautiful eyes, and Calen, still the best man-poser I’ve come across. (There are so many jokes to be had there but I’ll contain myself!)
After several delays due to the autumn rain, a location change due to some snappy harvesting, a ridiculously long drive due to my dubious map reading skills and a dislocated knee on the future bride due to…cough, cough…the future groom (that was one intense tickle sesh!)…we finally made it to the most blissful location I’ve ever shot at.
I must give a special thank you to Ross and Bev for hosting us and to Mr Bremner who let us invade his farm!
Cal & Stace – Thank you for being two of the only people in the world that I could spend seven and half hours in a car with and not go insane!
I think we can all agree it was worth it though right?! I cannot WAIT for November!
