June Kindred Sessions | Brisbane Photographer

Brisbane Family Photo

When I was 12 my family had our first family portraits done. I still remember the crisp afternoon in a field at Samford and stopping for pizza at a restaurant on the way home. It is one of those childhood days I won’t forget because Mum & Dad made it a memorable experience.

Introducing the Kindred Sessions – a new type of portrait session for Brisbane families.

Why? Because I heard you. You want a more affordable alternative to the full portrait session. So here it is. And here’s what you get…

// 30 minute session at the date/location of the month

// Your choice of 15 images on usb

// $249

It’s simple.

It’s easy.

It’s a great length of time for those with little kidlets (or those with non-enthusiastic hubby’s).

And you can book today with a $50 deposit.

Coming up this month, I’ll be hosting Kindred sessions on a beautiful property at Blackbutt. Book in and make a day of it – stop for a stretch at the Kilcoy yowie playground, and pop into the Blackbutt bakery for afternoon tea (a treasure trove of country sweetness).

And in July…I feel the city calling. We’ll be heading to Roma St Parklands on Saturday the 30th.

So if a Kindred Session sounds perfect for you, contact me today to reserve your spot at…

In May we’ll be taking some snuggly portraits on the beach. Bring your kite for some play afterwards and stay for fish & chips as the sun sets.

Andrea + 1 | North Lakes Maternity Photographer

North Lakes Maternity Photographer

I’ve done shoots in this field before but I have never experienced it in this state of pure lush. I can’t even tell you the joy at finding it so long , green and inviting! And to make matters AMAZING, Andrea turned up with professional makeup, giant balloons and a flower crown. It was a photographers dream.

Hopefully these photos capture not only a little bit of the spirit of Andrea’s country home, but also the beauty of impending ‘family’. A new season awaits…

The Birth of Bonnie Delle | Brisbane Portrait Photographer

Brisbane Birth Photography

My sister and brother-in-law are two of my best friends and we had a crazy idea. Chelsea wanted the birth of her second child to be photographed and I was totally keen. The only problem is, they live in Sydney, I live in Brisbane.

A plan was hatched – as soon as Chels knew she was in labour I would jump on a plane and we would all pray that I would get there in time to capture the birth. So when I got the 2am phone call we were all dubious that I would make it with the first flight of the day being 3 hours later.

But heaven smiled, and when I arrived at their house at 8:30, we all looked at each other in delight and amazement that our plan had actually worked!

The atmosphere was getting intense before the blessed epidural brought on a few hours of rest. There was sleep, phone calls, discussions with Steph, the midwife, about the ins and outs of The Bachelor, and musings about what on earth they would call this surprise baby girl.

At their 19 wk scan, Steve & Chels had been told they were having a baby boy. Fast forward 17 wks, a gender announcement, lots of shopping and a very blue baby shower, and a second scan revealed that they were, in fact, having a GIRL.

Just one week later, and two weeks before their babe was due to arrive, they found themselves here at the hospital.

She arrived with a healthy cry, arms wide and ready to embrace life at 3:59pm on February 9, 2016.

It would be a couple of days before she was named Bonnie Delle but she was safe in the arms of ‘belonging’ from the moment she took her first breath.

To be invited into this sacred moment was a profound honour – something I never thought I would experience from the other end of the hospital bed. So beautifully organic and surprisingly calm, it is a day I will ponder and remind my niece of for many years to come.

Jodie & Marcus | Newfarm Park Maternity Photos

Brisbane Maternity Photographer

Photo shoots are fun. Period. One of my favourite parts is the chatting. I am actually a typical introvert – I get a little nervous meeting new people. But I’ve learned over the years that if I turn the focus off myself, the nerves calm themselves down. I have also learned through life-in-general that everybody has a story. Everybody. So I like to use the time to connect with people – to take a peep into their world.

I have heard stories of divorces, stillbirths, first dates, big moves – a lot of loss and a whole lot of hope. You just never know what you’re going to find.

These two have had their own special journey just like everybody else. But I especially loved two things I discovered. As I was planning this shoot with Jodie over the course of a couple of months, I realised the name on her email address had changed. Turns out Jodie and her partner, Marcus, had eloped over the new year! #funfact1

They also told me they’d just moved into a new house. I asked them where. They gave a general description of the area that I live in. Huh! Cool! I asked them which street. It was then we discovered that we are practically neighbours – they live at number 33 and I live at number 32!

Bless you guys as you embark on the new adventure this baby will bring x
