At the start of November I had the privilege of showing at the first ever The Brides Market @ Twilight. We had a slightly hilarious start to the day when I got half way through setting up and realised I had left my glorious pink peonies at home. These were the beloved peonies that I had driven an hour to buy and paid quite the pretty penny for – drama.
‘Lucky’ for me I had my amazing best friend along for the ride and she (bless her!) drove the hour home to get the precious flowers – Julie, my hero. You have to agree that the whole stand was pulled together by that lovely flourish of fuscia.
We got to meet so many beautiful brides-to-be, mothers, sisters, bridesmaids, friends, and of course, a handful of boys throughout the afternoon. Thank you to all of those who were brave enough to come and say hello! And thank you to Julie for coming along to help answer questions and for generally being the gorgeous smiling face that she is.
I can’t tell you how lovely the atmosphere was at the Douglas Street Design Centre in Milton. The spring breeze under the shade of the trees, fairy lights as the sun went down, the smell of delicious food from the catering vendors, and the warmth of our lovely host, Jennifer Gifford.
I must give a shout-out to my eighty-something year old grandfather who helped me put my stand together. Did I say ‘helped’? I meant, he built it single-handedly. Thank you Grandpa! I couldn’t have done it without you!
