FAQ’S | Brisbane Wedding Photography

Piano on the Beach Brisbane Sunshine Coast Wedding Photographer Frequently Asked Questions FAQ's

WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?

Light, dreamy and story focused. With natural light, a handful of simple poses, and a whole lot of you just being you, I take care of capturing your wedding day whilst you get to remain truly present in the moment.

HOW MANY WEDDINGS DO YOU SHOOT A YEAR?

In order to maintain the best possible quality of work for you, and the best possible quality of life for my fledgling little family, I only book a maximum of 30 weddings per year.  First in, best dressed.

WHAT DO YOUR ALBUMS LOOK LIKE?

Good question!  You can pop over here to see a full preview of one of my wedding albums or email me at anna@sweethope.com.au to arrange a time to meet and feel them in your hot little hands.

WHICH GEAR DO YOU USE?

My main camera is a Canon 5D Mark III and I use a 7D as backup.  I use a variety of lenses with the 50mm 1.4, 85mm 1.8, 24-70mm 2.8 and the big mumma 70-200mm 1.4 being my favourites.  I also carry a Speedlite 580EX II flash.

HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL?

I am based on the north side of Brisbane and cover weddings from the Sunshine Coast down to Byron Bay, and out to Toowoomba.  If your wedding is a little further beyond I am available to travel with some travel fees applying.  I do also hold a current passport for those fabulous destination weddings.  Contact me here for further information.

DO YOU HAVE A SECOND SHOOTER?

No.  I find that I’m able to capture everything significant without the help of a second person.  I like to work alone and find it also helps the atmosphere of your wedding to have one less person buzzing about.

HOW MANY PHOTOS DO I GET?

I usually deliver somewhere between 500 to 700 images for each wedding.  Each one is digitally enhanced individually and comes in a high resolution format for printing and low resolution format for sharing.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY PHOTOS BACK?

Your images will be ready within 4-5 weeks.  An album delivers approximately 6 weeks after your final revision.

DO YOU GIVE OUT UNEDITED RAW FILES?

No.  For the images to properly reflect my style and level of quality, all images are edited prior to delivery.

HOW DO I BOOK? A deposit is required to secure your wedding date.  Fill out the contact form here for more pricing and/or booking information.

Matt and Katie Photographers Workshop | Brisbane Wedding Photographer | Point Cartwright

Do you ever have that feeling that you just need someone to give you a good kick up the butt?

With so many changes happening in my life over the last couple of years I’ve had limited time to invest into my work.  I knew 2014 was going to be a year where I would have more space to breathe and with that, more time to give Sweet Hope the CPR it needs.

As I was beginning to plan this mini-revival late last year, some of my favourite home-grown photographers, ‘Matt and Katie Photographers‘, announced they would be having a workshop in January.  Bam.  It was perfect timing and I knew I was supposed to be there.  So a couple of weeks ago I met with Matt (poor Katie was hit by a car and couldn’t be there however we’re told she’s on the mend!) and a dozen other photographers to glean some wisdom from these guys who have been doing what we do for years.  And what a delight it was.

Amongst the plethora of amazing business advice Matt was able to give (and I am excited to implement), it was the humility of this couple that was most impressive.  In an industry that is so focused on who can come up with the most over-the-top styled shoot or who has the most Facebook fans, Matt and Katie are focused on a higher calling, a greater cause.

And it’s like a breath of fresh air.

And I am officially inspired.

So thank you to Matt and Katie for not only sharing your story with us, but sharing your heart.  May you find favour in everything you put your hand to this year!

Behind The Scenes | The Piano on the Beach | Brisbane Wedding Portrait

‘How on earth did you get a piano on the beach?!’

The phrase that I have heard over and over again over the past few weeks!  And the answer?….

Pure GIRL POWER!

Sam and my brother, Dean, gutted the piano in the weeks leading up to the shoot so it would at least be manageable to carry.  I had an elaborate plan that involved plywood and a little trolley but in the end we decided it would be easier for four of us to just to carry it onto the beach.  We had planned the shoot so that it would take place at high tide so we didn’t have to carry it as far. Hmmm.  Turned out we got it wrong and we hit the beach about an hour before LOW tide (we’d make terrible fishermen!).  That meant, we edged the piano further and further down the beach, chasing the water…so much so that we had to carry the WET, sand-filled piano about twice the distance back UP the beach!  Cardio & weights session for the week – tick!

I have to give some BIG thank you’s to all the people who helped make this shoot become a reality…

Steve, Chris & Jamie – For ferrying the piano down from the coast.

Les & Jude – For letting us store and PULL APART the piano in your garage for WEEKS! You’re the best!

Dean (My brother – who is totally single – just doing my part!) – For sparkling that piano to pieces!

Les (again) – For helping us tie that sucker onto the ute and for not de-friending me after I accidentally put said ute into reverse and nearly ran you over.  Whoops.

Nanna & Poppa – For letting us (and the piano) crash at your house.

Dad – For lending me the ute xo.

Debbie & Sharolyn – For carrying a piano.  In SAND.  Enough said!

Belinda from The Lily Bean Florist – For arranging flowers IN THE DARK and still making them look amazing!

And Sam – you’re gorgeous xo
