‘How on earth did you get a piano on the beach?!’
The phrase that I have heard over and over again over the past few weeks! And the answer?….
Pure GIRL POWER!
Sam and my brother, Dean, gutted the piano in the weeks leading up to the shoot so it would at least be manageable to carry. I had an elaborate plan that involved plywood and a little trolley but in the end we decided it would be easier for four of us to just to carry it onto the beach. We had planned the shoot so that it would take place at high tide so we didn’t have to carry it as far. Hmmm. Turned out we got it wrong and we hit the beach about an hour before LOW tide (we’d make terrible fishermen!). That meant, we edged the piano further and further down the beach, chasing the water…so much so that we had to carry the WET, sand-filled piano about twice the distance back UP the beach! Cardio & weights session for the week – tick!
I have to give some BIG thank you’s to all the people who helped make this shoot become a reality…
Steve, Chris & Jamie – For ferrying the piano down from the coast.
Les & Jude – For letting us store and PULL APART the piano in your garage for WEEKS! You’re the best!
Dean (My brother – who is totally single – just doing my part!) – For sparkling that piano to pieces!
Les (again) – For helping us tie that sucker onto the ute and for not de-friending me after I accidentally put said ute into reverse and nearly ran you over. Whoops.
Nanna & Poppa – For letting us (and the piano) crash at your house.
Dad – For lending me the ute xo.
Debbie & Sharolyn – For carrying a piano. In SAND. Enough said!
Belinda from The Lily Bean Florist – For arranging flowers IN THE DARK and still making them look amazing!
And Sam – you’re gorgeous xo

The great glitter debacle of 2013! Note to self – make sure you do glitter LAST as it STICKS to makeup!
Just some of the (many) locals who stopped for a look-see…
The muscle!! And the beauty!! Belinda, Sharolyn (Sam’s mum), Debbie & Sam…
RIP Piano…

Hahaha. Oh the whole thing was fun!!! Note to self next time Anna invites me for a “bit of an adventure” remember is isn’t kidding!!! The reversing into Les (almost more than once) still makes me chuckle, along with high fences, car lights and new sleeping angles. I would do it all again though!!! Hahaha.
